Youth Minister Dude

Hello Peoples!

Life after Cru (2001-2005; var. of earlier Campus Crusade for Christ, see awesome) can be a miserable or it can be a BLAST! I once queried Elliot, “What can I do after college to keep me from getting lazy?” He shot back, “Get involved in Youth Ministry. My parents had an awesome time doing it!”

Three months after graduation, my Jesus took me away from my Colorado home and led me to Rawlins, WY, a thriving metropolis of about 8000 people. I met my first friends, an awesome elderly couple, at a church my first Sunday in town. They took me to a Bible Study that following Saturday night. I eventually “joined” the church about two months later.

The first three months after God brought me to Rawlins, WY, I started attending a church, but I wasn’t running hard for Jesus. It was miserable! Like a bird in a cage, a Christian will always be miserable outside of service to their King. There was nothing to strive for, for Jesus sake. No service to bring me humble and dependant to God’s throne for strength, guidance, and His joy. Nothing that required a closer walk with Thee!

But, after the first three months… God has brought me, by this little cowboy church, through some amazing times! He has given me a family away from my home. He has granted me teaching from His Word. And grace upon grace, He has blessed me with a race to run for His sake. I started a very small youth ministry. I don’t do things the best, but God is gracious to use me just as He used that scared hero of the Old Testament, Gideon.
